“Stellenbosch producers Boer&Brit were among the first to recognize this powerful homecoming trend with their Trans-Karoo brand of Chenin Blanc and Pinotage wines. Trans-Karoo, bring haar huistoe…”

“In just over a year of operating, Boer & Brit have taken the wine world by storm, with a truly unique product that has raised many eyebrows, and many glasses. With an unconventional approach to blending, funky labels and a catchy storyline, these wines appease more than just the palate.”

Artos (Stefan’s dog) did not make the cut for this pic… Looks like Monty had more presence this time.

“Stefan Gerber from South Africa’s Boer & Brit winery is defying convention by bottling his ‘Bob’s Your Uncle’ Chenin Blanc 2011 in 500ml brown beer bottles, with gold crown caps. They look fantastic, and the wine inside is good. But why beer bottles?”

We are pleased to announce that we now have a digital padstal. You can now have your wine delivered to your doorstep or stoep.
Unfortunately this only works for people in South Africa… as we don’t own our own ship yet, just a rubber duck. :)

Cathy looks at one of the quirkiest wineries around and tastes their wines.
Competition is fierce in the world of wine. Well-established wineries are resorting to marketing themselves for the first time ever and all new kids on the block are required to work twice as hard to find themselves an edge.

The much anticipated follow-up of the innovative and much lauded Bob’s Your Uncle Red, (check how much blog “action” Uncle Bob got) finally makes its appearance. Bob White’s just in time to beat the summer heat, offering anyone who’s daring enough to pop-the-cap a crisp, refreshing and unpretentious blended white wine in Boer & Brit’s trade mark classic 500mℓ beer bottle!
Gone are the days of torridly flat “by the glass wines” in your favourite restaurant; the strain of having to finish an entire bottle of wine at a single sitting; the inconvenience of a cork-screws and the myriad of wine paraphernalia; the ever-so-often occurrence of a corked wine; the hindrance of lugging around heavy-weight bottles to a picnic or forgetting the glasses at home after trudging all the way to a concert in Kirstenbosch or that camping trip to the Kruger!

We enjoyed this:
“This is Mick Kerford. I attended your launch at Dumont Kelders here in George.
As you know, I bought a selection of your wines.
My Mother-in-Law is crazy about your Suikerbossie Wit.
I took a Suikerbossie Red and the more expensive Boer and Brit wine to
the GrootBrakRivierMusiekLiefHebbersVereniging monthly meeting. (Yep,
it really is called that). We meet monthly, play and discuss classical
music, eat koeksusters and toebroodjies and share wines. There are
about 30 members and we are always trying to introduce a new wine out
of interest.I’m the only English speaker there, by the way. Well your whole
concept fascinated them, everyone wanted to read the labels and the
wines were appreciated. So in my honest opinion I think you’re onto
something. Stick at it and get the word out.”
Thanks Mick, very legend of you!
